Annette O'Toole was raised in Houston Texas in her mom's dance studio. In her toddler years she appeared on television for her first time, at the age of two. She was 13 when, with ten years of singing and dancing lessons to her credit, she along with her mother travelled to L.A. for a year to see if she could have a career in show business. She got her first job as a professional dancer in only two months on Danny Kaye's The Danny Kaye Show. According to her "I learned from my lessons to sing and dance in a variety of ways." The discipline gained from this is great for an actor." O'Toole's debut acting gig was My Three Sons, followed by roles in Gunsmoke, The Partridge Family, The Mod Squad, as well as Hawaii Five-O. The most important thing that O'Toole loves, in spite of her success in television and film, is theatre. After a six-year run on Smallville O'Toole made the decision to pursue a career in theatre and acting, which she'd been doing in the past ten years. She went to New York and her first audition landed her part of The Sea Gull. Her appearances have been in various Off-Broadway productions. Among them are Adam Rapp's Kindness, Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska as well as Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday For Creve Couer.
